I am writing to express my concern regarding the necessity for detectable warnings and accessible pedestrian signals for the assistance of those who cannot see dangerous situations. The technology exists and has been proven effective, providing needed information and, literally, saving lives. Let those who would oppose such development walk with blindfolds through a dangerous situation, without assistance, detectable warnings or accessible signals, before they speak. There is no sound rational for not providing warnings and signals.
I support the U.S. Access Board proposed regulations from the Public Rights of Way Advisory committee. Let's put an end to the unnecessary risk of harm to blind people.
